The only example of contemporary architecture to be found in the town. The combination of different colour materials is a key feature of the building, particularly as regards the red of the bricks and the dark grey of the slate roofs. Nevertheless, glass is also an important feature, and the building has a horizontal line of windows that provide natural light for the classrooms.

Nevertheless, the building conforms to the typical style of schools constructed around a central courtyard. The central wing is particularly striking, being built on a large column which supports the roof and the access stairway and is surrounded by external columns. This leaves a large open space which can be used for a wide range of functions and activities.
